    GMR Marketing is a global experiential and sponsorship agency, connecting brands and their consumers through shared passions. The Planner leads strategic process in a way consistent with the agency’s goal of bringing a strong foundation of our core vision and cultural intelligence/strategy offering for experiential marketing solutions that inspire creative ideas.



    An experienced professional that will be an integral role in the growth of business, bridging the divide between insight, foresight and action, adeptly moving between fast culture and slow culture: mega trends, macro trends and micro trends. This person can partner with creative, digital and client service & consulting peers to develop disruptive ideas at all points of consumer contact. Orchestrate strategic planning and analytical activity and develop substantiated POV’s for assigned accounts within the agency. Ensure all deliverables required from the group, internally and externally, are met in an efficient and timely manner. Identify opportunities to constantly improve the quality of thinking applied to client business. Actively support new business activity where required.


    Someone who can collaborate with senior clients and give them deeper insights into the dynamics of their business through the development of disciplined and thorough engagement activation and consumer analyses. A person who will continue to develop and implement strategic planning tools to foster consistency over time and across projects.  Complete this within the agency’s planning process but enhance the process through planning tools as well as syndicated or proprietary databases that enhance the level of thinking and insight injected into the entire process. Someone who can move seamlessly between multiple spheres and altitudes of thinking and engagement. A professional who’s thinking elevates the thinking of the team, making us all better.


    Reports into the EVP of Strategy.



    • Lead the strategic planning function within a cross functional team of creatives, digital and client service managers in the delivery of all requirements to support the growth and development of all client business
    • Collaborate on the development of future-forward culturally relevant recommendations
    • Write/design/produce cultural intelligence documents containing data/evidence, findings, insights, POV’s, experiential marketing recommendations
    • Bring forward new and interesting ways of looking at clients’ marketing challenges while inspiring the development of concepts and solutions
    • Collaborate with and support the team in developing approaches for key accounts and large new business pitches
    • Ensure strong relationships internally and externally with key agency and client partners to consistently elevate the quality of thinking and ideas applied to the client business
    • Develop a deep understanding of, and uncover consumer insights, within the intersection of brands, consumers and their passion points: Sports, Lifestyle, Entertainment



    • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of related experience in strategic planning
    • Previous agency experience required
    • Strategic/critical thinking skills, as well as creative and futures thinking
    • Comfort with data and utilizing numbers to define and support hypotheses
    • Storytelling
    • Exceptional leadership skills
    • Must be a self-starter and work well alone or in a team environment
    • Strong interpersonal attributes
    • Ability to work and effectively lead a group of highly motivated individuals
    • Strong analytical, project management, creative thinking and problem solving skills 
    • A general understanding in sponsorships, partnerships and conducting analysis of strengths and weaknesses of a company from a market perspective
    • A solid understanding of the experiential marketing channel to include how digital and social impacts the live consumer experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills to varied audiences 
    • Has credibility and gravitas with audiences at all levels, both internally and externally, due to style and content of communication
    • Works collaboratively corporately and departmentally to align plans across teams and creates strong team spirit
    • Demonstrates a high level of autonomy and decision making and uses judgement to balance complex and sometimes competing demands
    • Ability to take on each day with enthusiasm and positivity
    • Intermediate skill set with Excel and PowerPoint
