    GMR Marketing currently supports Comcast, a Fortune 500 company, with a variety of marketing efforts including; Sponsorship Strategy & Activation (sports, NASCAR, entertainment, Olympics, gaming), Divisional Marketing, Sports Creative, Business Services, Experiential Marketing and University Marketing.  This 1 – year contract position would focus on the public and media relations goals of Comcast’s sponsorship of the NASCAR Xfinity Series & partnership with music platform Sofar Sounds to achieve local and national business media objectives.

     


    WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB //

    • Primary point of contact for Comcast’s Executive Director of Partnership Marketing and Corporate Communications team pertaining to all areas of Comcast’s NASCAR and Sofar Sounds sponsorship media relations needs
    • Coordinate with Comcast and in conjunction with other marketing partners and agencies to develop a communication strategy that supports the company’s NASCAR and Sofar Sounds partnerships
    • Work closely with a team of 4-5 GMR account team members handling direct client and corporate needs across both programs
    • Act as primary point of contact for partners at NASCAR and Sofar Sounds as it pertains to all media needs for Comcast
    • Consult key internal stakeholders on relevant communication issues
    • Develop key messaging points for drivers, Comcast executives and others as needed.
    • Provide ongoing media monitoring services, weekly communications recaps, post-event media highlights, competitive landscape information and industry insight


    YOUR IMPACT //

    • Pitch important story lines to NASCAR media members as well as local and national outlets in order to garner positive sentiment for the sport, league, program and brand
    • Create and execute tactical recommendations for key NASCAR in-season initiatives, including, but not limited to: Comcast Community Champion of the Year (NASCAR industry philanthropy award), Xfinity Philadelphia Takeover, End of Year Banquets and Xfinity Series Post-Season Champion Tour
    • Conduct and facilitate media training with Xfinity Series drivers
    • Develop an overall NASCAR communications strategy that supports Comcast’s current agreement as the Official Entertainment Partner of NASCAR as well as the entitlement of the NASCAR Xfinity Series
    • Execute a Driver Communication Program that encourages Xfinity Series driver to deliver key messaging during TV interviews and on social media Prep and staff Comcast executives for and during interviews at-track and away from the track at various events, as needed
    • Pitch local / regional outlets around each Xfinity sponsored Sofar Sounds event in order to garner positive sentiment for program and brand
    • Develop and execute a local influencer strategy to amplify Xfinity’s Sofar Sounds partnership
    • Conduct and secure media to attend upcoming Xfinity sponsored Sofar Sounds shows (10 total)
    • Organize strategic outreach to relevant media segments (e.g. Entertainment, music, entertainment trade, etc.) to generate media coverage in connection with Sofar Sounds shows & related content


    YOUR EXPERIENCE //
     

    • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 years of related experience in sports + entertainment communications, public relations, media relations
    • Extensive NASCAR experience and understanding of the team public relations representative and NASCAR beat media landscape strongly preferred
    • Experience and understanding of the entertainment / music media landscape strongly preferred
    • Strong communication, collaboration and project management skills
    • Ability to successfully build client relationships and manage multiple client contacts and projects
    • Proven leader with very high initiative and work ethic
    • Willingness to work on days and times outside the normal work week, as necessary, including travel to approximately 6-8 events a year
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
