Reporting to the VP of Finance & Business Management, the primary responsibility for this role to is to manage and support the finance and compliance aspects of multiple marketing programs.
This team works with one of GMR’s longest standing and largest clients. Our partnership with Altria has evolved over the years and really supports creativity, collaboration, and partnership as an extension of their marketing department.
Manage budget creation, third party contracting, reporting, audits, etc.
Practice a thorough understanding of the GMR / Client Master Services Agreement (MSA).
Assist other account team members and consult on a financial and compliance basis (what’s allowable / included in the budget, purchasing procedures, MSA, etc.).
Collaborate with internal support services (project accounting, creative, logistics, production, purchasing, etc.).
Perform a consistent and detailed review of all program related GMR purchase orders in accordance with the applicable program budget and both GMR’s and client vendor purchasing guidelines.
Perform a consistent and detailed review of all 3rd party program contracts and subsequent billings from a scope and financial standpoint.
Perform timely and detailed review of all client billings in compliance with signed client agreements, current approved program operating budgets, and the MSA.
Track all actual program expenditures and continually reforecast program finances.
Complete monthly finance reporting (i.e., the budget vs. actual variance report, reforecasts, etc.).
Prepare client requested reports, budget scenarios, and analysis.
Identify, evaluate, and implement process efficiencies and cost saving initiatives.
Other special projects as requested by the VP of Finance & Business Management.
EDUCATIONAL + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
CPA Certification required.
Public Accounting (Auditing) with 5+ years of related experience desired.
Solid working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
Proven leader with very high initiative and work ethic.
Successful history of building client relationships and managing multiple client contacts and projects.
Excellent time management, organizational and management skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and willingness to assist on other programs as needed or requested.
Demonstrate problem solving skills through analytical and critical thinking.
