About the Opportunity: 

As a key contributor to the Talent Operations specialty of Human Resources, the HR Specialist is responsible for data entry and optimization for all electronic personnel files as well as general HR compliance. The HR Specialist provides administration of all employee benefit plans to include health, dental, life, disability, 401k, and employee stock purchase plan.

Responsibilities

  • You are accurate. 
    • Enters employee data into HRIS and payroll systems with accuracy and security (e.g. SuccessFactors, ADP, Costpoint) and upload documents and maintain workflow (OnBase).
    • Audits deduction files to ensure validity of information.
    • Tracks all changes to employee status that could impact benefits.
    • Assists with offer letter and severance letter compliance and audits.
    • Ensures compliance and document policy and procedures for E-verify.
  • You are tech savvy. 
    • Understanding of all systems and how they work together (Human Resources Information System, Learning Management System, and Applicant Tracking System).
  • You are collaborative.
    • Work with cross-functional teams such as Payroll, Finance and IT to promote data optimization.
  • You are resourceful. 
    • Keep up-to-date on changing laws and new laws affecting company benefits and communicates insurance information and changes to employees as needed.
    • Researches and analyzes the reason for errors in deductions and correct issues.
    • Shares ownership of quarter/annual projects such as open enrollment, pension valuation, EEO-1 reporting, AAP Reporting, SOX audits and security audits.
    • Updates and edits employee handbooks.
    • Researches employment laws and other related topics.
    • Responsible for keeping current on all State and Federal labor laws.
    • Maintains and updates communication and information related to HR on company intranet.
  • You are helpful. 
    • Point of contact for 3rd party administrator for questions on employee status.
    • Provides quality customer service to employees regarding benefit questions, eligibility for insurance and general benefit questions and assists employees on enrolling in 401(k) & employee stock purchase plan and setting up payroll deductions.
    • Administers and posts all federal, state and city posters and notices within all offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in a related position.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources and Benefits Administration is preferred.
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Expert at multi-tasking, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and data entry skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be able to maintain high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
  • Comfortable learning new software.
