Overview

Reporting to the Account Director of the Client Consulting and Services group, the Account Supervisor will manage global hospitality programs including development, execution, evaluation, and management of client base. GMR enjoys a 10+ year relationship with Visa handling Global Hospitality Programs for their global sponsorships including Olympic Games, FIFA, and NFL. 

 

This position will manage the Visa B2B hospitality program for Super Bowl 52 in Minnesota; as well as other elements of Visa’s global hospitality programs around the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup.

 

Experience in creating innovative event solutions, event management, activation, operations and execution is a must. Prefer experience with the NFL and/or other governing bodies and properties.  Experience with sponsorship of large scale or global events in a bonus.

 

Responsibilities

  • You are a leader. Manage Visa’s global hospitality programs, including program planning and operations
  • You are innovative. Challenge traditional hospitality programming with fresh, innovative, creative and best practice solutions
  • You are a valued partner. Work closely with the client contact to establish strategy for the program scope, program itineraries, and ticket orders
  • You are budget conscious. Develop program budgets and manage those budgets to achieve client needs and remain on targeted budget
  • You are detailed. Create and maintain strategic and administrative documents for client reports and presentation including proposals, point of view, recaps, reporting, agendas, and timelines
  • You are analytical. Development of staff plans, staff training plan, and transition plans for staff members hired on a program basis
  • You are an experienced marketing professional. Understanding client objectives, how to achieve them and what data/measurement is important to demonstrate achievement of those objectives - building and managing program measurement systems to capture and analyze relevant data
  • You are able to build strong relationships. Manage vendor relationships, including contracts, payments, and oversight of the deliverable and quality of work
  • You value employee development. Supervise, manage and mentor full-time direct reports
  • You are an advocate for GMR. Participate in Business Development efforts for the agency from time to time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business, Sport Management or Marketing preferred
  • 5- 7 years’ of experience in hospitality management or event management is a must
  • Prefer experience with the NFL and/or other governing bodies or properties
  • Experience with sponsorship of large scale or global events in a bonus
  • Creative and imaginative thinker with a proven history managing large scale event
  • Well-developed project management skills across various disciplines including creative, digital, ideation, measurement and research Experience with project management related to the creation of events and / or hospitality
  • Experience interviewing, selecting and managing a team charged with delivering a marketing program, ideally a network of third party contractors and field staff engaged in large scale hospitality and/or event programs
  • Experience managing teams, which can include field staff, field managers, vendors, agency peers, internal teams and / or clients, both face to face and remotely via electronic communication
  • Demonstrate a history of creative thinking and autonomous work. Comfortable with an autonomous work environment where the position will need to solve problems and determine action plans independently
  • Understanding of and passion for emerging technologies including social media usage
  • Familiarity with sponsorship negotiation and activation. Comfortable in consulting situations where the position will be asked to think strategically and creatively to work with a team to guide a client toward an unknown, soon-to-be determined solution
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and calmness in the face of stressful and ever changing situations – with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven success with daily contact with clients and support teams via face-to-face communication, email and phone
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, and management skills
  • A palpable and infectious work ethic
  • Adaptability to manage multiple clients, vendors and manufacturers
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of class leading creative event solutions and trends
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Ability to travel for business on an unpredictable schedule which could include trips of more than 5 days in duration and weekends
